quirky decor, cosy atmosphere, historical charm
The soundproofing between rooms could really use improvement!!! The bizarre taxidermy and odd photos weren’t exactly comforting, especially when the corridor lights only activate as you walk towards them. Safety first, please!!!

The staff was wonderful and always ready to help.
Staying at Mary-Ann's Polarrigg was frustrating due to the need to trek through deep snow just to access my room. It felt unreasonable to have to dress up for the freezing conditions every time I wanted to use the bathroom, especially after paying a premium for my stay. Additionally, some rooms have shared bathrooms, which became a hassle during cold nights when I wanted to go back to my room quickly.

I enjoyed my stay in a cozy atmosphere filled with quirky decor and a historical charm. The breakfast was impressive, featuring real scrambled eggs and bacon, and the staff contributed to a welcoming vibe. However, I found the shared bathroom situation a bit inconvenient. Additionally, the soundproofing could be improved, as I heard conversations from neighboring rooms.

I stayed in a Double Room with Private Bathroom for 4 nights. The beds were surprisingly comfy, and I loved having ample access to the bathroom. The lounge area was a cozy spot to unwind, and I appreciated the kitchen facilities for making tea. The veranda was a little suntrap too! Just keep in mind there's no room cleaning service during your stay. Overall, it was a good value for money, and I had a great time!
